Tupwood Gate Nursing Home sponsors the Caterham Carnival 2023

The Tupwood team at Caterham Carnival

On Saturday 10th June the team at Tupwood Gate Nursing Home were delighted to attend the Caterham Carnival. The Caterham-based nursing home were also the main sponsors for this year’s event.

The Caterham Carnival is an annual event run by volunteers and is held on Westway Common in Caterham. The popular event typically attracts 3-3.5K visitors from the surrounding area.

The Carnival included a procession through the town which finished on the Common. Entertainment included a stuntman, dog shows, group fitness activities and performances from local schools. Lots of tasty food was provided by local vendors.

A particularly popular visitor was entertainer and stiltwalker Professor Crump who has appeared at the carnival for over 20 years in succession. The Professor – standing eight feet tall in his magnificent top hat – has a variety of unusual props including a stilt-bike, scooter puppets, rubber chickens, a plastic dog, giant key and lots more. He certainly made a big impression on the team from Tupwood!

Zwelani Ndlovu, Tupwood Gate Nursing Home’s Service Manager, said: “The Tupwood team had a lovely time at the Carnival. We enjoyed meeting and talking to members of the local community and watching all the activities and performances. We look forward to taking part in the Caterham Festival again in the future.”
