Amongst the activities were a tombola, hook-a-duck, guess the name of the bear, and a raffle. The soundtrack for the day was provided by Billy, who sang a variety of Rock n’ Roll family favourites. The music had guests up and dancing throughout the afternoon!
The event was also supported by Knights Garden Centre, who provided some indoor and outdoor plants available to purchase at bargain prices. Jane & Debbie, Tupwood’s gardeners, were also on hand to give out their gardening hints and tips.
The catering team supported by baking a selection of delicious cakes, which were enjoyed with cups of tea and coffee in the garden. The party was a great opportunity for families to get together, and previous residents returned to catch up with friends.
A number of local businesses donated fantastic prizes for the raffle, which was drawn during the afternoon. Lucky residents, families and staff scooped up theatre tickets, dining vouchers, hampers and more.
In total, £517.80 was raised for the Westway Centre, a community hub in Caterham which hosts groups and activities and offers services such as hot meals, home repairs and food packs for those in need.
It was a real team effort, with every member of staff playing their part to make the day a success. In particular, a huge well done to Charlotte, Debbie & Sue, the activity coordinators for all their hard work and planning.
