The residents were sat in the conservatory looking out on the garden when it flew in. They love watching the birds in the garden and even took part in the annual RSPB birdwatch in January.
One resident, Gordon, went out to have a closer look and to give it some bird seed. Gordon was a commissioned officer in RAF 1951-1953. He then worked as a chartered engineer. He used to play golf, lawn bowls and cricket but these days he enjoys taking part in the activities at Tupwood Gate to which he brings a great sense of humour.
Gordon said, “We are very lucky to have such a beautiful garden and for it to attract visitors like the pheasant and white doves.”
The pheasant certainly didn’t seem to mind Gordon’s company and stayed in the garden until late in the afternoon.
